when i import a video, its soundtrack imports with it and is under the "video" section in the timeline, is there any way to cut it from there? i see no option to remove the video sound once its on the timeline

The audio from a video layer is shown in a separate space within the Timeline but remains attached to the associated video layer. Reducing the volume of that video layer to zero, under the "Video Clip Settings" section of the "Layer" tab in the Options Panel, should effectively remove the audio for playback / output.

Help! I can not delete or remove audio track from video clips. I had to resort to removing audio in final-cut and bringing in new clip without sound. Then deleted the original clip with the sound. BUTTTT it left the audio behind. Help, how do I delete audio now? Tried to lower its volume in layers and it has no results, still plays at full volume. Even though it show 0 level.
