Is there a photopia user in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area? I could sure use someone with experience with photopia to help me see what I may be doing wrong. I’m willing to pay for their time. I just can’t figure some things out and I’ve grown weary of finding solutions to my issues on the internet. Believe me, I’ve spent a good deal of time trying to find solutions on the internet. I find a lot of information but nothing that helps.

I am fairly new at Photopia but have worked with Proshow for many years. Like to help if I can. Please list what problems you are having.

Good morning Kenneth. I too used Proshow for awhile but life got complicated. I haven’t used it for maybe 10 years. Anyway, I am wanting to get back into it when I learned they went out or business. That’s when I learned about Photopia. I tried the evaluation version and decided to buy it. I started with my first show. Where I have recurring problems is when I insert videos into the show. All works as expected until I apply a slide style. At that point I lose the audio for she video. Then sometimes it will work as it should. Then it won’t if I tinker with it some more. I go back to the “ soundtrack during this video” setting over and over again because it doesn’t seem to stay set.

I set that show aside for awhile and started a second show. This one has about 6 short videos in it. Again when I apply styles to the video on some of the videos work fine as they should but now I am getting big black borders on the sides of the videos. I have one video that works fine and the next video has the black border problem. If I apply a style the big black borders become part of the video. I’ve tried removing the video and inserting it again but the same thing happens. I can insert it anywhere in the show and the big black border on the sides is still there.

I just got a reply this morning from another user and I guess some of the problems should be resolved with an upcoming update in a few weeks, but I’m willing to try any suggestions you may have.

Thanks, Kevin

Ok. I just heard from photopia. They said one of my issues is a known issue and should be resolved with the next update. They then offered some suggestions on how to resolve my other issue. This learning curve is testing me but I’ll get it. I’m stubborn that way.

I think I found a solution for losing the audio for the video file until the upgrade. I started a slideshow project with an imported video file with sound,. Trimmed it to the length I wanted. Added a slide style. Published the show containing one video file. I repeated that process with two other videos. Then inserted the files into my slideshow containing the rest of my photos. It seemed to work. I’m going to try it again but my brain is too fried for now.
