PSP was able to use PhotoShop PSD files with no problem. I tried putting a PSD file into Photopia Director and it went in but when I tried to play the show it hung when it came to the PSD and would not display it, continued to play audio and then finally stopped. I have numerous shows all containing PSD files, in fact that latest one contains over 500 images. It seems to work fine with JPG, but not working with PSDs is a serious shortcoming. Hope that gets fixed. Purchased Photopia Director, but will not attempt to do any serious work with it until this and other problems are solved.

Please reach out through our Contact Us form so that we can look into this issue further.  We don't see many slideshows created with PSD files, but I believe Photopia should support that file format.

I raised the issue of .psd files back in november and update 1.0.308 supposedly addressed the import of .psd files??

It could well be the size of the file which is causing a problem as I noticed that larger files could cause the programme to hang.

Also, you may not see them Joshua but there are a lot of us out here in the world who use .psd files in the shows that they produce.

Through further testing I have found that the PSD format is supported, however the performance seems very dependent on file size. I was attempting to use a file that was over 130 MB in size. It took a long time for Photopia to open or do anything with it and at one point the program went into a non responding mode. I flattened the file and reduced the size to bring it down to 21MB and then Photopia had no problems with it. I have been using my laptop to do this testing. I am on the road and when I get home I will install Photopia on my system which is for more powerful then the laptop and see how it performs there.

@andyw

It's certainly true that our perspective can be a bit skewed by the material we receive from customers.  Suffice it to say that PSD files should work in Photopia and were we find examples that do not, our intention is to resolve those problems.
