Anyone any idea why if I am not logged on (i.e. a guest) I can see members. Both the members list and also members profiles. But when logged on I "do not have permission" to view that?
Seems a bit strange to me, but most things baffle me these days.
Well it baffles me too, Andy
Normally you would expect only members to see a list of other members.

Douglas
Andy,
I also notice that there are only about 64 of the 255 members listed as members.
I cannot find your name or my own name on the list!

Douglas
Just something else that needs some work, yes it is confusing, I did notice there is a setting in "Site Profile" - "Privacy" where you can hide your Profile from the Directory. Not sure if this is what is happening as to seeing someone or not. I also think that the 255 members also includes other groups such as beta testers.
Bob
I can't even find that privacy setting!!
Maybe it is because I am not a "customer" just an interested observer 😀
"Customer", Andy?
I am a customer (Photopia Creator), but I am listed as "Member"
In defence of Photopia, Forums are usually 3rd party additions to home pages.
They are a beast to themselves.
Can take time to learn how to set up all the parameters etc.
I am happy that the techie folks are working on actual bugs in Director/Creator.
Someone will, hopefully, customise the Forum at a later, more convenient date. 😀
I am sure you agree with that too.
Regards
Douglas
Yeah, I am not worried in the slightest about the forums not listing me properly or the like. It was just an observation.
I had a long and detailed reply from Joshua about stuff I had sent to them and what they knew, didn't know and were addressing.
As he said, some issues are hard for them to address/fix if they cannot reproduce them, so they have to rely on us, the users, to give them as much info as possible (which takes me back to my beta testing comments earlier).
They have done a lot of work to address the bugs and hopefully are getting there. I have yet to check out the latest update but will be doing so for the last couple of days of my trial period. If they have sorted out enough then I may subscribe on a monthly basis so I can continue to let them know of issues.
Although ProShow has been a great workhorse for me, since they stopped development it means that it will fall behind on any of the latest stuff coming out of the tech/graphics world. There are some things on Director which I can see would be useful for me so I am keen to see this software working properly so I can move forward for a little longer yet.
Fingers crossed for Photopia and now time to see what they have fixed this time.
Thanks Andy!
There are many basic things in the program they do not work after the start.
They should start the program and tray !
My problem with the Stand Alone Show does not need to "reproduced".
When they try this it will fail!
In my opinion they do not use the program otherwise the would find many bugs by them self!
Of course there are a lot off very specific bugs and we will report to them bat I find so many every day that I can not all report with my limited English language knowledge!
regards from
frustrated peter
I feel your frustration Peter.
I have not bothered with the stand alone show, I need the basic programme working properly first.
I haven't checked out all the latest updates yet, I have real work to do just now! so will be getting back to
it later on.
I don't report everything I find because I assume some of the more obvious ones are already being worked on (I am an optimist!) but I do report
what may be slightly more obscure ones or ones which are particularly important to me.
I am still debating whether or not to subscribe on a monthly basis so that I can keep my eye on it or just stick to Proshow for my slideshows for now.
I will check out the latest updates later and decide then as I only have a couple of days of trial left.
Good luck
Andy
I am so sorry., Peter. I know how it feels. May see how it works for me.
Photopia told me that I can write in swedish or some other language to them. They have a good translation program.
Look, I could without problem installed On1 to laptop , but not on Desktop. And that program was really beta tested many ways. Why ?
The company told me they have a bug.
If the program does not work for me I try too long to solve problem before I contact the company and it makes me brain tired.
And I'm poor at describing bugs.I don't see the difference between my own mistakes and bugs in a new program
The company needs everyone who finds bugs as they wrote to Andy. And you, Peter find them and many others here.
I have a hard imagining that some have started an online program and are not doing their best to get it perfect.
It costs money to start online and in real life a business.
And they have to work very hard in the beginning. Harder an employee.
Best greetings Mirja
Thank you Andy for what you have done for us and for the company. Of course I wish you could continue,
if you have time and possibility.
I can't do what you do.
With best wishes Mirja
