Well, I have had a couple of days to "play" around with Director. Basically seeing if I could fit my workflow to it without much hassle and also to see if I would be able to use my existing templates etc.

Seems that sadly it is a no for both.

I was not able to do some of the very basic stuff which I do on my existing programme and importing existing shows to use as new templates was very hit and miss. Sometimes they seemed to be ok and other times they were completely messed up.

The browser in director seemed to show whatever it wanted sometimes, not what was actually in the directory in windows??

Sometimes when importing even a small show with music then the music would get messed up along with the keyframing for slides.

I noticed that the programme seemed to make multiple copies of image files in different places and if you deleted a show often not all of these files would be deleted which seemed a bit strange and might be what was causing the problems when I was trying to swap images.

I have had a chat with a couple of people I know who were trying it out and they all come to the same conclusion as I have.

It is not ready yet and they cannot work with it either.

I noticed from the version information that there has been about 9 updates in just a couple of months so maybe they rushed it a little bit.

I might have another look in a couple of months if they are still around but until then I will stick with the oldie but goody.

cheers all.

S
