I just tried importing my ProShow files. Took a while (crashed once during it, had to restart). But lo and behold I now have a complete additional copy of my entire photo/video collection in my \Documents folder. WTF!
I keep my entire collection under ProShow and create slideshows for display on a Digital Photo Frame. I DO NOT NEED this program to copy and maintain a whole other copy.
Photopia automatically creates a folder for each new / imported show. All of the content added to (or included in) that show is copied into this folder. It's the only way to make sure that the files for that show do not get lost / misplaced.
Does this appear to be what you're seeing? If not, please reach out through the Contact Us form on our site so that we can dive into this issue further and figure out what's going on.
Are these copies replacing the .pxc files used in ProShow? If so, maybe it's a wash.
That's a fair assessment of the situation. Photopia does not need to cache show content in the same way because it has direct control over where that content is located. This results in a similar data overhead per show with a MUCH lower chance of any files going missing. It's also a bit easier to archive projects in Photopia, because all of the show content is inherently contained in one location.
All the individual slides in my imported Proshow Producer slideshow are in their original format. That is, none of them show the images correctly rotated, and none of them show the masks and outline frames which I created in Producer. Am I missing something somewhere?
