I just switched from ProShow Producer to Photopia Director. While the software is very similar to the one I used, there are still a few hurdles I need to jump over. One ist that I can't figure out how to type German Umlauts like ü, ä. etc. I'm living in the USA and my US keyboard doesn't have the Umlauts. The Apple command OPT+u doesn't' work in the Photopia text bar, nor the Windows ALT+0228 (ä) etc command. I'm using the MAC Photopia Director software.

I'm sure there is a way to get the Umlauts, can somebody please let me know.

Thanks

Matthias -

In Windows 10, using the numeric keypad, you enter "Alt" + [Value], such as "Alt + 0235". The attached JPEG is a list of the Window codes for those umlauted letters.

Dean,

thanks for your answer. As I stated in my original post, I work with an Apple MacBook Pro and the Windows 10 numeric keypad workaround doesn't work in any Apple iOS software. The Apple numeric keypad workaround normally is OPTION+u and then a letter, like "a" to create an " ä ". But even that does not work in the Photopia Creator Apple software! In all other software programs on my Apple computer, this command works fine.

Have a great weekend

Matthias

Just to follow up from our earlier emails, using regional keyboards through macOS is the current workaround for this issue. We do have a request logged to provide better support for non-English characters in Photopia, although I don't have an ETA for that update.
