Have had Photopia for almost a year BUT have had ProShow Gold for so long and it still works so well I  get frustrated with Photopia. Sometimes there is no logical place to look for what is desired and I give up and go back to Old Gold. The first two questions of many is -  Gold lets me fill frame and does fill the frame, Pho almost fills but doesn't well enough to suit me. How do you change the frame background with a color other than BLACK? Someone give me a Christmas present with a solution..If I can ever figure out how to post....

The show background can be changed by selecting the "Show" tab on the left-hand side of the program and clicking the "Background" option therein. This will bring up the "Background" tab on the right-hand side of the program, from which you can click the 'folder icon' under the background preview. This will bring up a "Browse" window from which you can set the show background to a different solid color (second option from the left at the top of that window), gradient (third icon from the left), or image file (from a location of your choice).

It sounds like the "Fill Frame" Scaling option may not be working properly on your end. Please reach out through the "Contact Us" form on our website for assistance with that issue.
