With the latest update I have at last been able to publish my first 4k mp4 (Pal) pictureshow using Creator with 69 images, 2 captions, black background, no music, simple page curl, file size 688 meg.
John,
I have been able to export a few shows in 4K already. I think that the reason I am having positive results, is because I am creating new shows directly in Creator. I may be wrong, but I think that many users who are having problems are those who are trying to import a show created in Proshow and then continuing to work on it in Creator. As I said, I may be wrong 😟 .
I do, however, agree with the many voices raised that Photopia was a little too eagre to release the programme before some major problems had been addressed.
Regards
Douglas
Hi Douglas,
Thanks for you reply.
I have saved all my Proshow .psh files, images and music over the years and I'm gradually converting them from 1080p to 4k in Proshow Producer. It has never entered my mind to do it any other way.
Some of my Picture Shows have images that are over 50 years old which I scanned negative, transparencies and photo's.
I believe I must produce 4k quality shows to keep up with the times, to suit the modern computers and TV's.
I remember starting with Proshow in the early days and they had problems with the software then.
Many people are saying the software has been released too early, I believe this is not so because we as users are able to input our thoughts and end up with better software.
As for cost, it's better to have software updated on an ongoing basis rather than waiting for each year to come around and hope the Developers have listened to us.
A great positive with Photopia is we have been able to bring across all our effects, if we go with other Software Companies we have to start from scratch. I have 6000.
It was sad to see Photodex close, they in their hay day were a great Company, but they let us down in the end by not communicating.

I created a new show with two slides directly in Photopia and tried several times to export the created show as an stand alone show.
This is not possible.
I subscribed to the creator and I can not use one of the basic functions!
Is this fair?
peter
Peter,
What do you mean by "Stand alone show"? Do you mean a video file of your show that can be played on a computer or video player on a usb memory?
If that is what you mean, I see a few different formats that can be exported as video files. As John did, I have exported 4K video files that can be played.
The one that is missing, and I have reported it to Photopia directly is the "Custom Video Export". I got the answer that that module would be available soon.

Douglas,
thank you for trying to help me!
I mean a Stand alone show (attached file) that can be played with the downloaded Photopia Player on the computer!
I can create it but not play!

peter
(I have exported 4K video files as well)
Sorry Peter,
I misunderstood. To be honest I have never used the Standalone Show or player before. I will give it a test tonight and see if it works for me.

Douglas
No problem Douglas!
I look forward to your experience with Stand alone show!
Its a super possibility to get a show very fast produced.
It works well in Proshow!
regards
peter
Yes Peter,
My first ever try with the Standalone player failed.
1. The show was created and appeared on my desktop.
2. Clicked on it and the Standalone player opened - long pause - no show appeared in it.
3. Tried to load it from the small dropdown menu in the player.
4. It said the show file could not be loaded.
5. Tried to delete the show, after closing the player, Error: Cannot delete the file as it is in use
6. Rebooted my computer and could delete the show file.
The question is, have you reported this to Photopia direst?
I will do it, but two voices should caryy more weight than one.
Regards
Douglas
I reported this to Photopia direct!
But please do the same, maybe it will help!
thanks again

peter
thank you Douglas
I have met the irony of faith. Everything has been just well. Now I cannot update. The program closes as soon I have seen everything they have fixed.and
click uppdate .I am very suprise the way the program is on PC .I see it on conrolpanel but i find no folder with the program. Only uppdate Photopia and when i open it so it clossed too. I have seen before the folder with this program.
I have cleaned my PC after this happened and i will uninstalled the program and install once again. Here was little dark to our tunnel but after darkness
comes light..
It was great to notice Jennifer continue her videos on Vimeo and i got new one at same price. I bought all at same time.
Best wishes ..Mirja
Mirja, sorry for you!
You have such a positive attitude to this program!
Question: are the tutorials an vimeo at the moment not the same on youtube without any costs?
Good luck with the program!
regards
peter
Just for fun! Have you heard this one?
I was happy to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.
It was an express train coming down the tracks at full speed towards me!
Regards
Douglas
PS. It was for fun - not a serious thought about Creator. 😀
