Output options in Photopia currently rely on a curated list of presets.  This will remain the case for options like Blu-ray, DVD, and similar formats that rely on a particular video standard for proper support.  We expect to add options for customizable Video File output in a future update.

I am trying to publish to instagram using your preset options and the image is distorted - stretched north and south - as it creates and in the finished version.  What can we do to correct this and/or what is a work around for posting a video on instagram?  I have updated the program.

Photophia is so very frustrating.  I found a preset that allowed me to format for instagram, but when I went to post the video, all the wording was cutoff, not centered etc. because the output was retangular and instagram requires a square.  So I tried to adjust the text and it would not let me move it; further, new text added did not work right and it would not allow that to be deleted.

So, I went back to presets and found the square setting for the show.  Wonderful, I thought!  but no.  It allowed me to create the show as a square but when I went to publish, there was no square aspect ratio so it stretched the video to something stupid.  Seriously, if you have an Instagram preset, it should work appropriately in instagram.  And the bugs that won't let me more the text should be addressed immediately so we have a work around until the bigger issues are addressed.  There should be atleast one web video preset that is compatible for the various show settings, and in this instance, the square.

And for what its worth, the location of the obvious buttons for creating a video are very difficult to find.  You should consider making some agreement with Photodex to utilize the more common sense elements.   Furthermore, with Photodex, we could call in and a problem like this would be resolved in less than 10 minutes.  Clearly, this is not of interest given there is no phone number; pandemic or not.  At this point, I have spent hours trying to figure out a workaround for some very obvious and simple issues.

I agree with you 100%.  While Photopia has come a long way it still has miles to go to be a workable program.

Everyone is still waiting for some type of written documentation, especially since support seems to be just one person and he is swamped.

As discussed over eMail, we're looking into this issue and should be adding additional Instagram presets in a future update.  I believe Instagram does accept the 4:5 aspect-ratio video files currently available through our Instagram output option.  Slideshows formatted to a 4:5 aspect-ratio should fit that output standard properly, without cutting off any captions (or other layers).  Please feel free to reach out through eMail with any additional information on this issue that might be helpful.  Thank you.

Hi Joshua, I am happy to report that I was able to create a video that could directly be uploaded to instagram.  I posted the above prior to receiving your emails.  And, I greatly appreciate the time you took to address the various issues.  Thank you.

I've created a video with a aspect ratio of 1:1. How do I publish it with this ratio? There only seems to be 16:9 ratio option for publishing.

In the latest update there is a 1:1 aspect ratio preset under the "Instagram" section of the "Publish" window, labeled "Square", which uses a 1080 x 1080 resolution in an H.264 encoded MP4 container with AAC audio.

That is urgently needed. My viewers watch the video in FB feed in portrait orientation and the videos come out tiny.
