 I went to publish a show to bluray disc. After completion I went to play on my PlayStation 4  which is bluray compatible. and it said it didn't support  the disc. when I played it on another bluray player it opened up as folders instead as a video. had to scroll down to folder that said streaming. opened that and clicked file and video would play. Just wanted  to know if anyone else has had that problem. Joshua from Photopia is aware of this.

I’ve had two problems with BluRay publishing, Richard.

1. A large 8 show project consistently crashes about 30-90 minutes into creating an .iso file.  Joshua is aware and they are looking at it.

2.  To satisfy myself that it could create an .iso file, I created a BluRay from a small single show project. When I tried to play the disc in my Samsung BluRay player the disc was not recognized.  If I play it in the PC, then it works.

I think they have a couple bugs to sort out in their BluRay creation routines.   I have generated DVD .iso files and created working DVDs from them.  Hope this info is helpful.  I feel your pain!

We do have some issues to resolve where Blu-ray output is concerned and we're working on those problems.  Unfortunately, they've proven to be a bit more complicated than expected so we're not quite ready with any fixes.  Rest assured that these are some of our top priorities and we hope to see them resolved as quickly as possible.

Small show created for MP4 and DVD work just fine with some crashes.

Same show creating an iso for blu-ray created successful using audio LPCM, but couldn't play on sony blu-ray player.

Created same show for iso file using AC3 codex for audio, and it just stops before creating the Blu-Ray Structures:

Encoding Show – 31%, 83%, 98%, Complete

Menu audio fast

Menu Page – fast

Menu Page video – Fast

Blu-Ray Structure – Siad it was complete VERY fast – didn’t create it. Just said Output Complete.

HELP

Sincerely,

John R. Chambers

Personally, I would use a stand alone authoring program. This will give you more latitude if you are doing more complicated slide shows or a lot of them. The workflow changes to: 1). Export your project file, or files, from Photopia; 2). Import these files into your Authoring program and Author the BD or DVD; 3). Burn with Imgburn. When I was churning out BD's, I used Adobe Encore. All Authoring programs are going to have a learning curve, so expect that. If I have to make a DVD/BD, I now use TMPGE Authoring Works 6. There is a free trial on the website: Free Trial

Whether you author within Photopia or using a 3rd party software, I would use Image Burn to burn the disc. This is free and easy to use software. I've never had a bad burn when using Imgburn.

John, it has been a while since I burned to disc but I remember taking the "mkv" file and running it through "tsMuxerGUI" and then burn the results with "ImgBurn". The beauty of this was the ability to use a DVD+R DL disc instead of the expensive Blu-Ray disc. For the most part they play very well on a Blu-Ray player.

Hope this helps.

Bob

I have several issues with Creator. I have created a 5 show project with 292 slides that is about 52 minutes long. The good news is that I was able to publish the entire project by creating an ISO file and burning a blu ray disk of 10.3 gb using windows 10 to burn the disk from the ISO file. I was not able to burn a Blu Ray disk from Photopia itself. The bad news is that after viewing all of the shows on my TV, I decided to make some minor edits (caption changes, increased soundtrack volume in some video clips and moved a couple of slides to new positions within the show timeline) to two of the 5 shows. Since making these edits, I have not been able to republish a COMPLETE Blu ray ISO file or blu ray disk. Both of the shows I made edits to will not include all of the slides in the republished ISO files. The republished ISO files are now only 7.37 gb or 8.83 gb (vs the complete 10.3 gb original) after multiple attempts to republish. The content is good, just the last slides are not included in both of the shows that I made edits. I can see all the slides within Photopia, just not in the Blu Ray iso file streams. It looks like Photopia is timing out or reaching some constraint that prevents it from including all of the slides. This is very strange behavior considering that Creator originally created an ISO that included all of the slides.
Please advise solution or other options.

Hi Frank, there are currently reported issues in Photopia when using the DVD/BD Authoring tool.

When you use an all-in-one program you can expect issues. Sometimes things get fixed, sometimes not.

More than likely, you want to do most of the work within Photopia and be done. The problem you had when returning to edit content could have been avoided by using 1 extra program: A stand alone Authoring program. These can be had for around $100US. All you would need to do would be to re-edit the particular show/segment and export it as an .mp4 for BD use. You will need to know what the particular authoring program requires in order to prevent re-encoding of the file. Some programs will convert the files for you during the authoring process from an .avi or .mov file.

Then simply replace the existing file in the Authoring program with your new version and then create your .iso. Once the .iso is finished, use Imgburn to burn to media.

I hope this helps you in some way.

@larry-richardson Two suggestions:

- start a new topic with a title that relates to the problem

- explain in detail what you are trying to do and where it fails

This might get you a response more quickly.

@joshua

I have sent several problem reports that include the program with all the audio, video, etc. I am using an LG Blu Ray writer model BP50NB40. I have used this recorder for two other shows using Photopia.
