I'd like to change the duration of many slides in one go. I select them, change the "duration" in the "Timing" section of the "Slide" panel, but only the first slide gets its duration changed. How can I do it? I cannot really manually change the duration of every single slide...

In addition, I've set up the Default duration to 0.5 s in the "Show Settings" , but all imported slides have a duration of 1 s.

Can anybody help?

Select the slides tab (do not select Timeline or Keyframes; you'll need to be in the advanced layout). The select the slides for which a desired timing is wanted. Change the timing at the bottom of one of those slides. All selected slides should now have the same time length. If you want to effect a change in transition time across multiple slides, you'll select those slides as well. Change one of the transition times. The timing to the right of each of the selected slides will also change to reflect the new transition time.

Thanks, this worked!

The key was indeed to change the timing at the *bottom of anyone of the slides. " -- and not in the "Timing" section of the "Slide" panel,

Hi
I'm in the transition (no pun intended) between Proshow producer and Photopia Director, and are missing several things. The most urgent is the ability to select a series of slides and change the total duration for these slides.
In Proshow Producer It is possible to change the total duration of a series of slides, by selecting them in "Timeline" and expand or contract the series to make them fit, for example, to the end of a piece of music.
It is possible to select a series of slides in Photopia Director, but is it possible to change their total duration?

I just select the desired slides (using Shift-Click or CTRL-Click) and edit the time associated with one of the slides. Each selected slide will then change to the same length of time. The same goes for the transition time between slides. Basically, it's the same as in ProShow. You will want to select the SLIDES tab above the timeline (not Timeline or Keyframes). Whatever setting you are in (VIEW: Light, Basic, Compact, or advanced), you'll want to see the slide metaphor (at least that's how it is with me).

Hi Thanks for the answer.
The problem here is that, by this method, they all get the same duration and the same transition.

I will try to explain the problem better: You have a show, or part of a show with different  slide duration and different transitions and you want to keep the rhythm but just  fit it to the end of a piece of music.
In Proshow Producer you just do it by dragging the selected slides to the left or to the right to align them with the music. It is the functionality I am looking for in Photopia Director to be able to use it.

I never used that approach to which you refer for adjusting my slide timing ... I specifically adjusted the transition or the slide time (or time for associated layers on the slide) to get the timing I needed. I’m also not sure that Photopia is at the point where that functionality exists. Powerful tho it is, it’s looking like they’re still concentrating on some nuts and bolts “basic” functionality. Too, the areas that I’ve been concentrating upon ... when I can find the time, is on the actual effects side of things. I’m stressing the program in a different way than most (I think). So, actual slideshows have not been something I’ve approached. I’m grouping layers and “rotating” at specified points in the layers ... creating specific types of “borders” and groupings of layers to see how they work ...

But, if you figure out how this “sliding” the slide left or right on the timeline relative to a soundtrack, I’d definitely be interested. You never know when such a trick can prove useful.

@im42n8 Hello Dale,

When you open the timeline, stretch a littele bit the timeline with the scroll wheel. Now move the cursor to the edge of the picture or to the dissolve. A double arrow appears with which you can drag and adjust the duration and slide time. See also the video of Jennifer "Timeline".

I hope it helps.

Best regards   Dieter

I agree that this is a major lack of functionality, and it appears that 3 yrs later it is still lacking.
