I can open the program but from here it is frozen with the cursor spinning and needs to force quit.
New iMac Os up to date with M4 chip and 32 gb unified memory. Why is this happening and how can I get this to operate beyond the main screen

I am experiencing the same problem. After force quitting multiple times, it finally let me begin a project. After completing the project, when it was about to play, the whole app shut down unexpectedly and I have not been able to get past the previous update information screen. Did you find a remedy?

Unfortunately no. After several back and forth emails to the "support" team, I'm no better off. In fact, I didn't find them very supportive at all.
I've been a long term user of Photopia and I'm really disappointed and am going to miss using the application.
However, I have since downloaded Davinci Resolve....IT'S FREE, so no more subscriptions and there's a multitude of tutorials on YouTube to help. It's a huge program and a lot to get your head around....but so far, so good. Could be an alternative for you if you can't fix your issue. Just don't rely on the "support" for some help.
