Just getting into Photopia Creator, I decided to try and figure out a way to do an effect where a greysclae image would slowly torn into a full colour one.
I figured out two ways. The one I show in the tutorial is the second way.
I am sure there are other, better ways, that will give the same effect.
This, however, is my attempt at doing it.

The tutorial is  HERE on VIMEO

I hope it inspires someone to use it as a base from which to create some original effects of their own.
Regards
Douglas

Please, please do the same for photopia creator.

You do it in an excellent way and one can follow very easy!

Thank you Peter.

There is a possibility that I will create a tutorial now and then in the future.
But I myself accept that Jennifer is the best there is when it comes to Photodex and Photopia.
I am not about to start trying to match her in quality or volume.

I can promise that whenever I get an idea that can be useful to the community here, I will make a tutorial!

Regards

Douglas

Douglas I own all Jennifers Tutorials from Vimeo!

But... your first tutorial is by fare easier to follow for an non English speaking person!!!

We will support Jennifer AND you!

There are so many tutorial-creators in vimeo and youtube - why not have two for Photopia!

regards

peter

Hallo Douglas. I got introduced by Jennifer with her tutorials and have to admit, she has such a deep knowledge on this program's as I became a newborn student again.  For me it became like a super glue.                                                                        After I have read your intro to this kind of Color wash, I was just curious and Oh man, you sure made it with ease to follow . As I will continue to read your views and tutorials , just seeing this from a different point of view.  Thank you for being on this forum and sharing your experience.

I am happy to hear the tutorial was useful to you, Helmut.

Jennifer is the go to person to get really good, in-depth tutorials. She has a vast source of knowledge as she makes and develops her own effects/transitions etc.
I am only a dabbler.
I am normally making tutorials on NLE's and plug-ins for NLEs. As I am Scottish, have lived in Sweden for 32 years and now in Japan for 20 years - I have learned to communicate with non-native English speakers. 😀

Regards

Douglas

@peter-lang Hello Peter.

As you can see by this reply - one year after you posted - I do not check my Photopia Forum messages very often. 🙄

Thank you for your comment about the tutorial.
In fact, I am just about to create another tutorial dealing with a little known aspect of Photopia. I have no ETA for it, but hope that it will be online in the next week.

Regards

Douglas

Hello Bob,

A happy New Year to you (and everyone else using Photopia).

I did a huge switch from hosting my tutorials on Vimeo to hosting them on YouTube.
I got lost in layers of Tutorials and have still not been able to catch up and repost them on YouTube.

Thank you for pointing out that this one on colour wash has vanished.
I hope to recover it during the first week of this new year - 2023.

I'll post again when it is back on view.

Regards

Douglas

@douglas, Happy New Year to you also. Hope the New Year finds you healthy.
Thanks for the reply. A friend is trying to do something similar to the color wash you did and I thought of your tutorial. I hope you are able to find it and repost.

Take care,

Bob
