Keeping Text in Focus During Transitions
Want to make your titles and section headers stand out in your Photopia Slideshows? With a simple trick in the Layers List, you can keep your captions visible while transitions play underneath, giving your shows a polished, professional look.

We’ll start by adding a caption to our outgoing slide. This can be any text you’d like; we’ll keep our example as a short title and position it in the center of the screen.
Next, add a transition between the two slides. For this example, we’ll use the Sparkle transition, which comes bundled with your Photopia program, but this technique works with all transitions. When previewing the transition, notice how the sparkles are on top of the caption.
To keep your caption visible during transitions, drag it above the “Transition” divider in the Layers list.
Now the transition will animate beneath the caption rather than displaying on top of it.
The last step is to animate the caption so it appears only during the transition, not for the full slide duration.
First, select the Animations tab with your Caption layer selected. Move the first keyframe of your Caption layer to where the transition time begins. You can animate the caption between these two keyframes in any way that you’d like (a subtle zoom, for example). Finally, add a Fade In Fly In on the first keyframe, and a Fade Out Fly Out on the second keyframe so the caption appears and disappears smoothly with the transition.
The result is a clean, professional-looking caption or title as the text remains independent of the transition beneath it.
