Adding a Background Behind a Transition
Some Photopia transitions may reveal your show background when moving between slides. If you don’t have a show background, the space behind the transition will appear black.
In today’s blog, you will learn how to add a background behind those transitions, but only on the slides where you need it.
Some transitions, especially in the Motion 3D category, such as Spin Dissolve 3D, Flashcards, and Fly Zone 3D, reveal your show background, which is commonly black. While you can always set a background for the entire show, you can also customize the background for a specific slide.
Inside each slide, you’ll see two important dividers in the Layers List: one labeled Transition and another labeled Background. These sections control how elements behave during transitions.
To add a custom background for a transition on a specific slide, add an image below the word “Background” in the outgoing slide’s layer list, but above the Show Background.
Next, click on the Transition that follows that slide to open the Transitions Window. Now, uncheck “Include background in transition.” This tells the program to play the transition while leaving any layers beneath the “Background” divider unaffected.
When you play through this transition, the newly added image will display behind the slides instead of a black background.
