Macros
In Photopia, Macros are shortcuts that help you quickly show specific text. They make your tasks easier and faster, allowing you to work more efficiently.
First, where can you find Macros in Photopia?
Macros can be found in Photopia above the Text Box, whether you are adding a new Caption or editing an existing Caption Layer. The Macro icon looks like a plus button.
When you open the Macro window, you’ll find a list of Macro shortcuts, which include options such as displaying the file name, file date, slide number, and more.
Macros are tools that enable you to quickly display information about an image or slide. They are especially useful when creating a show for a client, as they allow you to display details on each slide. Using Macros as Global layers can make it easier to add information to all slides.
Let’s say we want to display the slide number at the bottom of each slide.
We’ll enter “\p” for the Macro. This can be done by selecting the macro and inserting it, or if it’s a Macro that you frequently use, you can simply type it into the text box.
Next, customize the font, size, and placement of this text layer. This will become a Global layer, meaning it will be consistent throughout the slides.
Next, click on the Global checkbox in the Caption Settings tab.
Changing the Caption Layer to a Global layer copies the Macro to every slide. Each slide will show its own number in the lower right corner, so you only need to enter it once.
